The ArtsThe arts represent an outlet of expression, that is usually influenced by culture and which in turn helps to change culture. While in general, the arts refer all creative outlets, like writing and cooking, the arts in schools normally refers to the performing arts. Major constituents of the performing arts include the worlds of Dance, Media Arts, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts. OPEN NH courses in the arts are aligned to the National Core Arts Standards and are framed by artistic literacy as described in the philosophical foundations, lifelong goals, and artistic processes. Integration of the arts into a wide range of content areas ensures a rigorous, engaging and relevant arts education for all students.
